It all started when...

Family 1st Living was a labor of love for Alan and Marilyn McClure of Augusta, KS.  Marilyn, who began her career as a secretary for Lifestyle Mobile Home dealership, in Wichita, KS quickly advanced to salesperson and went on to buy the dealership in the 1980’s.  Alan was busy farming and establishing his own excavating company, which started with one small backhoe and grew into a successful excavating business called Alan’s Excavating. Both Alan and Marilyn’s businesses were growing, so they teamed up to build and fill the 3 manufactured housing communities which we now know as Family 1st Living.  Alan built the communities from the ground up - from installing the utilities, to completing the roads, to pouring the driveways and planting the grass.  As fast as he could build them Marilyn would fill the spaces, giving families the opportunity of affordable home ownership and efficient floor plans, all in modern communities with great infrastructure. 

In the midst of completing our former Towanda community, Alan was tragically killed in the tornado that went through Moore, OK, in 1999.  Marilyn retired from day to day operations in 2002 and their oldest daughter, Angie, came on board in 2004 to manage and continue growing the communities.  And now the tradition continues…
