Upcoming Classes with Core Community Augusta

Family 1st Living supports an organization called Core Community Augusta. We believe their program can help you change the future for yourself and your family. Here is an invitation from them for their upcoming classes and a little bit about their mission:

Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ by World

Are you frustrated at life?
Do you feel like you’re spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere?

Are you lacking support systems?
People to reach out to and brainstorm with or just someone to talk to when you are having a tough day?
Has life knocked you down so many times it is painful to dream about a better future?

If you can answer “YES” to any or all of these questions, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!
Truly, this class is life changing!
Besides, we need your brilliance to make it even better!

A little about Core Community Augusta:

We believe no one should live in poverty. Here we achieve poverty resolution with an environment that educates, empowers, and equips our members to move up and out of poverty successfully.

Currently 13% of Augusta Families live at or below the poverty line.

Core Community Augusta (formerly Bright Futures Families) is a relationship based initiative to help Augusta families walk out of poverty.

As part of the CCA model, adults living in poverty become Core Leaders. Core Leaders set goals that will allow them to permanently increase their earned income.

At our weekly meetings, childcare is provided, a meal is shared and Core Leaders receive training to work towards their goals with the committed friendship of volunteers we call Core Friends.

Core Friends are people who are not experiencing poverty that commit to building a friendship with the Core Leader as they work their way out of poverty. CCA believes in the evidence that friendships are crucial for people to journey completely out of poverty. This model focuses on multi-generational poverty resolution and it strengthens communities in the process by bringing people together. Join us in helping Augusta families walk out of poverty and build a vibrant community.
